MONITORING STATION CHANGES
We are pleased to share some exciting news with you. It is about our new strategic partnership, which began on May 27th, 2025, between Huronia Alarm & Fire Security Inc. (Huronia Alarms) and Armstrongs (Canada) Monitoring (Armstrongs), one of Canada’s leading ULC-listed monitoring stations.
Armstrongs is now providing dispatching services on our behalf.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our ongoing operational vision and plans for growth and service excellence. By partnering with Armstrongs, we have expanded our capabilities and will introduce a broader range of monitoring solutions and services for our customers.
Why the change?
Recent changes to ULC standards significantly impacted Huronia Alarms' ability to continue monitoring alarm signals. After considerable deliberation, the decision was made to partner with Armstrongs.
After thorough research and assessment, Huronia Alarms selected Armstrongs as our partner to provide dispatch services on our behalf. Backed by their parent company, Becklar, an innovative, technology-focused organization dedicated exclusively (100%!) to the security industry, Armstrongs brings industry-leading infrastructure, a solid track record of high customer satisfaction and security expertise to the table. This partnership ensures continued compliance with evolving standards while elevating the level of service we offer our clients.
What does it mean to you, our valued customer?
Rest assured, Huronia Alarms is still your monitoring provider, and we will continue to be your main point of contact. We’ve ensured that our valued Monitoring Station team members have found new opportunities at Huronia Alarms.
Our dedicated, local customer support team in Midland remains fully available to assist you, just as they always have. The only change is that Huronia Alarms will no longer be responding to alarm signals at our local monitoring station. Instead, these signals will now be managed by the Armstrong team, who will handle all dispatching services—including Police, Fire, and Ambulance responses—as well as putting your systems on and off test.
Please know that all customer service inquiries will continue to be handled by our trusted local team, ensuring the same reliable and personalized support and service you’ve come to expect from Huronia Alarms.
Our Partnership with Armstrong provides the following advantages:
- Increased staffing base to dispatch signals received from your alarm system
- Redundancy of monitoring stations with multiple stations across the country that seamlessly transfer signals to each other in case of fire, natural disaster, etc.
- Additional operators are available during storms to provide better response times
- Huronia Alarms has transitioned staff from the monitoring station into customer service and data entry roles to better serve our clients
- Advancements in technology, such as group text chat for burglary alarms, to speed up efficiency to cancel false alarms or to initiate dispatch. If there is no response to the text, a phone call will be made. Did you know that 70 % of calls originating FROM the monitoring station go unanswered on a customer’s phone, but 60% of texts are responded to?
Contact Information:
All Huronia Alarms phone numbers and email addresses remain the same.
To report a false alarm or to put your system on test, the phone numbers remain the same as before, please call:
Monitoring Station 1.888.363.9311 or 705.527.9311 or 705.444.2287 or 705.385.8395
Then press 1 for false alarm or 2 to put the system on test.
To help streamline the process, please have your Account Number readily available. If that's not available, your service address (with accurate spelling of the street name) will also suffice. For security verification, you’ll need your passcode to validate you as a user on the system before the system can be placed on test.
If you’re unsure about any of this information, our customer support team is happy to assist you. Please refer to the contact details provided below.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Calls from the monitoring station will show on your call display as 705.527.9311 (same as before)
- Burglary text messages will show on your call display as 587.609.5874 (new service)
Best practice is to set up Huronia Alarms Monitoring as its own contact in your address book and to add the numbers above, and to make the entire contact (Android Device) a favourite, or for iOS devices, add the contact and outgoing phone number and the text message number as a favourites.
This way, when the monitoring station calls and texts, it should ring through even if your phone is set to do-not-disturb or silent. You may need to configure your do-not-disturb setting on your device to allow for favourites to come through on Silent or Do Not Disturb mode.
Customer Service 1.844.363.9311 or 705-792.9311 or 705.445.4444 or 705.645.4108 ext. 6623 Email securityservice@huroniaalarms.com
Changes to your account with respect to Monitoring:
If you need to make changes to your monitoring account, update passcodes / passwords, call down lists, vacation notices, etc., please continue to email monitoring@huroniaalarms.com (add this email to your contacts under the monitoring station) and one of Huronia Alarm’s Customer Service reps will be able to assist you.
We understand that change can be hard. Especially when it’s outside of your control. The unfamiliarity and fear of the unknown bring uncertainty, and it’s natural to feel apprehensive. However, please be assured that Huronia Alarms is STILL your trusted local alarm company.
Our commitment to serving you locally is unwavering.
The only difference is that, moving forward, your alarm signals will be monitored 24/7 by Armstrongs - an organization solely focused on professional alarm dispatching, including emergency response coordination.
We’re here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this transition in more detail, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.
Thank you in advance for your support of our new strategic partnership.
Kind regards,
Rob Thorburn Jr., Chief Executive Officer
